A varied outlook for summer streamflows across the West

Although most of the US West appears headed for a dry summer, a round of late spring storms brought some much needed moisture and snow to several states and drainages.The few bright spots in the West are portions of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and a swath of the northern Cascades in Oregon and Washington.Most of Oregon, southern Idaho, and southwest Colorado have a lot of ground to make up and with a few more weeks for the potential of spring rains, there is still cause to be cautiously optimistic to move the needle.
