Joan grew up inspired by fishing. She is in the International Game Fish Association Hall of Fame and before she was 18 years old she was the Women's World Dry Fly Casting Champion. She's an international casting competition icon and instructor, holding numerous distance and accuracy casting titles and broke barriers as the first female spokesperson for a national fishing company.
