New partnership enables anglers to explore exclusive fishing opportunities on private lands through the onWater app, supporting stewardship, rural communities, and sustainable land management.

Louisville, CO – November 18, 2024 — onWater Fish, a premier mobile app for anglers across the U.S., is thrilled to announce a partnership with LandTrust, the leading recreation access network connecting outdoor enthusiasts with America’s undeveloped private lands. Together, they are expanding access to exceptional fishing destinations on private lands, empowering anglers to discover new waters while distributing recreation that lessens the burden on public lands for everyone else and supporting landowners in rural communities.

As part of this collaboration, onWater has integrated LandTrust access points directly into its app, giving anglers easy access to an exclusive selection of fishing locations on private lands across the United States. Each LandTrust access point will be marked on the onWater map as well as accessible via tapping on water bodies on the map, featuring a custom access card with detailed information about each location and a direct link to the LandTrust platform for easy booking.

“Our partnership with LandTrust underscores our commitment to connecting anglers with unique, responsible recreational opportunities, and to promoting sustainable access,” said Alex Maier, CMO of onWater. “Together, we’re providing a way for anglers to enjoy these undeveloped, private lands and supporting the communities and landowners that are stewards of this land.”

A Purpose-Driven Partnership

This partnership synergizes the missions of both companies by enhancing recreational access while preserving America's working lands and supporting conservation. onWater users gain entry to exclusive fishing locations on private land, opening up vast waterways previously inaccessible to the public.  LandTrust landowners, often facing economic pressures, can now share their property with a community of conservation-minded anglers. This generates vital supplemental income, directly supporting sustainable land management practices and ensuring the long-term health of these vital ecosystems.  By fostering collaboration between anglers and landowners, this initiative strengthens the private land movement, championing the crucial role private lands play in conservation and outdoor recreation.

LandTrust Founder and CEO, Nic De Castro, added, “LandTrust was created to support the enjoyment, profitability, and sustainability of private lands. By partnering with onWater, we’re able to reach more outdoor enthusiasts who share our commitment to preserving rural lands and recreating responsibly.”

Partnership Features

  • Conservation Commitment: Both onWater and LandTrust prioritize conservation, working to keep America’s rural lands undeveloped and open for responsible use.
